BARONG DANCE

The Barong Dance is a traditional Balinese ritual dance. It is a captivating performance that tells the story of good versus evil, with the good represented by the Barong, a mythical lion-like creature. It is said to bring peace and harmony to the village, often performed by two actors – one dressed as the Barong and the other as Rangda, a witch-like figure. The actors perform a battle between the two characters, with the Barong ultimately emerging victorious. Barong Dance has a long history in Balinese culture, with some records of performances dating back to the 10th century. The Barong represents a magical spirit that protects the village from evil forces.

BATIK VILLAGE

Hundreds of Balinese long-tailed monkeys live in the Ubud Monkey Forest, split into different groups that live together. And the chance of seeing baby monkeys is very high! Because there are no restrictions, barriers, or fences, the monkeys happily live here by choice.

RICE TERRACE

Tegallalang Rice Fields is situated in a valley that offers extraordinarily scenic lookouts over the terraces and surrounding green landscape. Along with the ones in the villages of Pejeng and Campuhan, Tegallalang Rice Fields form the three most stunning-looking terraced landscapes in Ubud region. Since it has been listed in UNESCO World Heritage site, this place has gained popularity among international travelers. Nevertheless, it is still a great place to wind down and ease your mind as itoffers a quiet and relaxing atmosphere.

UBUD PALACE

The palace was the official residence of the royal family of Ubud. It was on his travels that Rsi Markandya received a divine revelation that in Bali he was to bury five precious metals on a mountain slope where the mother temple of Besakih now stands today. Along with a group of followers, Rsi Markandya was magnetically attracted to a destination located in the central foothills of the island that radiated light and energy. This place was Campuhan in Ubud at a junction in the Wos River and it was here that he felt compelled to build a temple by the name of Pura Gunung Lebah.
